Our Public Policy Expertise

We are experts in public policy development.

We combine public policy and public law expertise to deliver effective and legally sound public policy solutions for the private and public sectors. Our services include:

  • Legislative and policy design: We design legislation and policy across a broad range of regulatory contexts
  • Progressing law reform proposals with government: We work with the private sector on law reform projects and during industry consultations, with a focus on representing industry associations and stakeholder groups
  • Developing industry codes and standards: We work with both the public and private sectors in the development of industry self-regulation, with a focus on complex regulatory environments such as media, telecommunications, the digital economy, health and disability
  • Frameworks for optimising public administration: We work with the public sector to develop frameworks for optimising public administration, including by developing assisted decision-making frameworks to optimise administrative decision-making; developing systems and controls for the development and management of subordinate legislation; o developing anti-fraud and anti-corruption frameworks compliant with mandatory legal frameworks and applicable Australian / International standards.

We complement our policy work with Capability Building and Training where we embed policy solutions through targeted training and other supportive change management.

We and our principal have worked on some of the most impactful public policy projects of the last decade. These include:

  • Advising the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and the Arts on the development of major legislation in the communications space
  • Advising the National Disability Insurance Agency on major statutory reforms and on operationalising key aspects of the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Advising Australia’s Right to Coalition – a stakeholder coalition of Australia’s leading media companies – on legal reforms needed to secure freedom of the press.
